Selected participants for the 2008 Summer Invitational Institute will soon meet for this year's Pre-Institute.

The SI Pre-Institute provides participants a chance to meet each other and get a "taste" of what's to come in the Summer Institute.  Participants should dress casual and come prepared for a fun day of writing and thinking.

The Pre-Institute will closely model a "typical" day in the life of the Summer Institute.  Participants will arrive by 9:00 am for coffee and a chance to "write into the day" in their new Daybooks, which will be provided by the TRWP.  As the day progresses, we will walk through a sample teaching demonstration and begin thinking about the major questions we have about our own teaching of writing in an attempt to begin to focus our thoughts on teacher-research.

Lunch will be provided and will offer us a wonderfully informal time to chat about our teaching and our own goals our participation in the Summer Institute.
